Find out what fantasy football experts Sean Koerner and Chris Raybon are saying about Dak Prescott below.

The consensus at the top of most quarterback rankings entering this upcoming NFL season, including Sean Koerner and Chris Raybon, is that there are four who stand out: Josh Allen, Jalen Hurts, Lamar Jackson, and Patrick Mahomes.

The NFL has a handful of young, talented QBs who could take a big step forward in 2024, headlined by C.J. Stroud, who’s No. 5 in most rankings.

Then there’s Dak Prescott, who finished as the QB3 last season and was a key player in the MVP race for most of the season.

Prescott is not the sexiest name to target in drafts this year, but you may not have to target him. Koerner and Raybon break down how and when they’re looking to potentially draft Prescott in leagues for this upcoming season.

Dak Prescott’s Fantasy Outlook 2024

Sean Koerner: I think QB6 sounds about right. You know, he ranked fifth in Best Ball points added per game, my new metric, last season. He ran for more than 200 yards for the first time since his devastating 2020 ankle injury. Maybe he’s getting more comfortable tapping into his rushing upside a little bit more, which is going to help his ceiling, of course.

In general, the Cowboys offense might rely on him even more this year now that they’re moving on from Tony Pollard, and they’re bringing back the corpse of Zeke Elliott. This could be a more pass-heavy attack, which is great news.

There are some Best Ball sites where he’s going as late as QB9. If he falls outside of this tier, I’m absolutely scooping him up. He’d be one of the guys where I wouldn’t like to attack him at QB5 or QB6 necessarily, but if he slips past that range, then you absolutely want to take him because I think he is in that top-six mix again in 2024.

Prescott doesn’t have the same rushing upside as the top four guys (Josh Allen, Jalen Hurts, Patrick Mahomes, and Lamar Jackson), but he is as steady as it gets, and he still has that high ceiling that you’re looking for when you’re taking a quarterback early in a draft.

Prescott also probably doesn’t have as much upside as C.J. Stroud, so I think right behind him makes sense.

Chris Raybon: Dak Prescott is my QB6, and it’s tough because he was QB three last year. On the one hand, it’s like, is he being underrated or because you have guys like Anthony Richardson, Joe Burrow, Jordan Love, Kyler Murray, and Brock Purdy going after him?

So, the question is whether he’s too high in that tier of QBs to invest in.

It’s kind of a value situation here once you’re getting outside those super elite guys because there are a lot of guys you can make the case for at like QB5 or QB6,  but I’ve seen Prescott fall as far as QB10.

Prescott’s value will vary from draft to draft, so he’s definitely someone to monitor.
