Welcome to Week 15!
The entire point of this article is to give you a brief but comprehensive analysis of my core plays for the main slate. I’ll be giving you what you need but without a 10,000-word article. Expect a lot of concise points, along with data-driven analysis from the extensive suite of analytical fantasy tools in the FantasyLabs Player Models. Oh, and no bullshit.
It’s important to remember that I strictly play smaller-field tournaments on DraftKings such as the Power Sweep, Juke, End Zone, and others.
Overall, my thoughts and analysis will always be geared towards tournaments on DraftKings, not cash games.
Also, don’t forget that for large-field tournaments, you can utilize our Lineup Optimizer to effortlessly create up to 150 lineups, or use our Lineup Builder if you like to hand-build your teams.
Let’s dive in.
My Favorite Overlooked Game Stack
Houston Texans (17.5) at Jacksonville Jaguars (22)
The slate is disgusting. There are no games with a total over 50 points. Everybody is in COVID-19 protocols. Urban Meyer is gone, and I’m really hoping for a big “eff you” game out of the Jaguars team even though Trevor Lawrence is playing like Zach Wilson with long hair.
Are you intrigued yet?
When these two teams faced in Week 1, Lawrence had his best fantasy week of the season, throwing for 332 yards and three touchdowns. Lawrence is the highest point per dollar player at the quarterback position. Former dynasty sweetheart Laquon Treadwell is the second-highest-rated wide receiver in my model. He has five or more targets and four receptions in each of the last three games. Marvin Jones, Laviska Shenault, and James O’Shaughnessy are his other stacking options, in that order. Due to their cheap price, it is not necessary to double-stack with Lawrence.
At the running back position, James Robinson is the highest point per dollar projection in my model. With Meyer gone, there is hope that he took Carlos Hyde’s playing time with him.
On the Houston side of the ball, I don’t have much interest outside of Brandin Cooks. Cooks has scored 20+ DraftKings points in four of eight games started by Davis Mills.
My Core Plays
Tua Tagovailoa
The Dolphins get to take on the lowly Jets this week. The Jets are allowing a slate-high Opponent Plus/Minus to the QB position. When these teams last faced, Tua completed 80% of his passes en route to a 272-2 performance. At the low price of $5,700 on Draftkings, Tua is the highest-rated quarterback in my model.
Myles Gaskin
I am not sure if Myles Gaskin is good at football, but when you get to take on the Jets, that does not matter. The Jets have already allowed a league-worst 24 rushing touchdowns on the year. It is no surprise the Jets allow a league-leading Opponent Plus/Minus. Even though Gaskin is averaging a paltry 3.67 YPC, the Dolphins are still giving him all the rushing work he can handle.
Over the Dolphins’ last 5 games, Gaskin is averaging 17 carries and 2.8 receptions per game. Until the Dolphins stop trying to make fetch happen, Gaskin will project for a high-volume role against a truly pathetic Jets defense that might be better suited for the XFL.
Davante Adams
Davante Adams is the highest-rated wide receiver in my model. On a slate with no spend-up options at the running back position, Adams will garner a lot of ownership. He has seven or more receptions in his last four games, surpassing 100 yards in three of them. Add in that the Ravens are allowing a slate-high Opponent Plus/Minus to the position, and you have the perfect storm.
Christian Kirk
The Cardinals have the highest team total on the slate. Deandre Hopkins is out for the year, making Kirk the de-facto No. 1 wide receiver against a Lions team that struggles to stop everything. There are a lot of situations that lack clarity due to COVID-19 protocols, but this is not one of them.
Gabriel Davis
With Emmanuel Sanders injured, Davis should step into a starting role in one of the most pass-heavy offenses in the league. As a part-time player, Davis has shown a nice connection with Allen. He has scored four touchdowns on his 24 receptions and is averaging 16 yards per reception. Davis is the second-highest-rated wide receiver in my model.
George Kittle
Kittle is very expensive, which should suppress his ownership. He has more upside than any tight end on the slate. Kittle has seen a spike in volume with injuries to Deebo Samuel/Elijah Mitchell. With Mitchell out, Deebo will continue to spend more time in the backfield, which should open up more opportunities for Kittle.
Run good in Week 15!
