Celtics-Mavericks Pick

The Celtics-Mavericks NBA Finals really gets interesting tonight with Game 3 in Dallas. The Celtics have looked like the better team through two games, but a 2-0 series lead hardly guarantees anything.

Most sportsbook favor Dallas by 2.5 to 1.5 points tonight, but I like the over/under more. Both DraftKings and FanDuel have the over/under set at 212.5 points and I really like the under.

The big issue with this number is that the Mavericks have yet to crack triple digits in this series, and that’s with Luka Doncic averaging 31 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 6 assists on 51.1% shooting through the first two games. Sure, Kyrie Irving and one of Dallas’ role players could do better than they have early on, but so far, it seems like Boston is fully capable of limiting its offense.

Speaking of the Celtics, it looks like they could be without Kristaps Porzingis tonight following his recent leg injury diagnosis. His injury sounds fairly serious, and his absence removes a legitimate scoring threat off the bench for Boston, since he’s averaging 16 points on 60% shooting in the NBA Finals. Plus, the Celtics offense can become stagnant even with Porzingis on the floor, so they could be in for a more challenging night offensively.
